Privacy Policy: Snug Hollow
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Snug Hollow is a cozy virtual-pet game for iPhone and the foldable iPhone Duo. It is made by Dharyl Auguste (OSOF Studio) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game does with your information.
In short: we don't collect it. Snug Hollow has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your Tucklings, your house and everything you do in the game are saved on your phone, and we never see them.
What stays on your device
Your game is saved only on your phone:
- your Tucklings, their names, looks, moods and outfits
- your house, rooms, furniture, yard and decorations
- your honeydrops, items, letters and care log
- the photos you take in the game's camera, until you choose to save them
- your settings
The game does not send any of this to us. We have no server that receives it, and we have no way to read it.
Your phone's own backup (iCloud Backup) may include the game's data if you have backup turned on. That backup is run by Apple under your account and Apple's privacy policy, and we can't access it.
What we collect
None. Snug Hollow does not collect, store, sell or share personal information. In particular, we do not use:
- advertising, or advertising identifiers (no IDFA)
- analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs
- location, contacts, microphone or health data
- sign-ins, email lists or a server of our own
Sharing a home with your care team (optional)
You can invite people you choose, such as a partner, a sibling or a friend, to help look after your Tucklings on their own phones. This uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit sharing):
- Your home is stored in your own private iCloud and shared only with the people you invite. There are no public links.
- People on your care team can see and change the shared home: your Tucklings, rooms, honeydrops, the care log, and the name you gave as caretaker.
- The saved home is kept in an encrypted iCloud field. We can't read it, and it never passes through a server of ours.
- When someone on the team cares for a pet, Apple sends the other phones a silent update so everyone's game stays in step.
- You can remove someone or stop sharing at any time from the Post Office (tap Manage). Someone who leaves loses access; your home stays as it is.
Sharing needs an iCloud account and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. If you never invite anyone, nothing leaves your phone.
Playing with friends nearby (optional)
Nearby play lets two phones on the same Wi-Fi find each other and play together. The phones talk to each other directly over your local network, not over the internet and not through us. To be found, your phone shares a short friend code and how your Tucklings look. During a play date the two phones share what the game needs, such as your Tucklings' names and looks. Nothing is stored after the play date ends, except the game's own memory of it on each phone. iPhone asks for Local Network permission before the first play date.
The mailbox
News, seasonal letters and gifts from us arrive in the in-game mailbox. Some letters ship inside the game; others are read from a public list we post in Apple's iCloud. Reading it needs no account and sends nothing about you. Which letters you've opened and which gifts you've claimed are saved in your game, on your phone.
Permissions the game may ask for
Each permission is optional and used only for the feature it names. You can change any of them later in your phone's Settings.
- Notifications. Used for reminders such as "Pebbles is getting hungry," scheduled on your phone from how your pets are doing. If you share a home, they may also tell you when your care team did something.
- Saving photos. Used to save a photo of your Tucklings. The game asks for "add only" access, so it can add pictures but can't see, read or change your photos.
- Local Network. Used only for nearby play, to find a friend's phone on the same Wi-Fi.
Purchases
Snug Hollow is free to play. Optional honeydrop packs and the Welcome Basket are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email, card number or billing address. Apple only tells the game what you bought, so it can add your honeydrops or items. Apple's privacy policy covers the payment itself.
Everyone
Snug Hollow is made for players of every age. Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 (or the age set by the law where you live).
Your choices and deleting your data
Your data is on your device, so you're in control of it:
- To delete everything, delete the game. That removes your Tucklings, house, items and settings from the phone. If your phone's backup includes the game, deleting it from that backup is done in your iCloud settings.
- To stop sharing, open the Post Office, tap Manage, and remove people or stop sharing. To leave someone else's home, tap Leave care team there.
- To stop notifications, turn them off in your phone's Settings.
Because we hold no personal information, there's nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU and UK) and the CCPA (California) give you rights over data a company holds about you; for Snug Hollow, that data doesn't exist. You're still welcome to contact us with any question.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a future version sends anything new off your device, we'll update this policy before that version ships.
