Terms of Use: Our Father: Bible & Prayer

Welcome to Our Father, a calm Bible and prayer app for iPhone, the foldable iPhone Duo and Android phones. It is made by Dharyl Auguste (OSOF Studio) ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them; they're short.

The app is free

Our Father is free to download and use. The Bible, Today, the Journal, the mood quilt, keepsakes, blessing cards, widgets, soundscapes and the read-aloud voice are free, with no ads.

Our Father Supporter (optional subscription)

Supporter is an optional, auto-renewing subscription that helps fund the app.

• What it includes: the calm music library, and future Supporter features as they arrive (such as a signature narrator voice, which may be produced with AI voice technology, and more tracks and languages). Features marked "coming" aren't available yet, and we can't promise a date.
• Price: $4.99 per year in the US, or the equivalent price shown in your store for your country, including any taxes. The price is always shown before you confirm.
• Payment: charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
• Renewal: the subscription renews automatically each year at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. If the price ever changes, Apple or Google will tell you first, as their rules require.
• Canceling: manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings (iPhone) or the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions (Android). Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep Supporter until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
• Refunds: purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds follow their policies. Request one through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play.
• Restore: if you reinstall or get a new phone, tap "Restore purchases" in the app, signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account.
• If it lapses: music locks again. Nothing else changes, and none of your data is lost.
• Family Sharing: on iPhone, Supporter can be shared through Apple Family Sharing.

Your content

What you write in Our Father (journal entries, prayers, moods, highlights) belongs to you and stays on your device. We don't collect it; see our Privacy Policy. Since it lives only on your device, please keep your phone's backup on if you want it saved, because we can't restore it for you.

Bible texts and content

The Bible translations in the app are in the public domain. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org, and that text appears unaltered. The app's design, art, prayers, music and code are original works owned by us and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use in the app. Blessing cards you make are yours to share with family and friends.

Using the app well

Please don't copy, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, or use it to break the law. Our Father is a devotional and reading companion. It isn't medical, mental health, legal or professional advice, and the mood check-in isn't a diagnosis. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or to local emergency services.

App store terms

iPhone: your use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. If these terms and Apple's EULA conflict, Apple's EULA applies. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to it.

Android: your use of the app is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.

No warranty, and limits of liability

We work hard to make Our Father reliable and gentle, but the app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Supporter in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app grows. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply.
