Privacy Policy: Our Father: Bible & Prayer
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Our Father is a calm Bible and prayer app for iPhone, the foldable iPhone Duo and Android phones (including foldables). It is made by Dharyl Auguste (OSOF Studio) ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
In short: we don't collect it. Our Father has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. What you write and save in the app stays on your device, and we never see it.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Our Father is saved only on your phone:
- your journal, prayers, prayer list, answered prayers and gratitude notes
- your mood check-ins and the quilt they make
- your highlights and reading place
- your settings, such as the Bible version, text size and sounds
The app does not send any of this to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives it, and we have no way to read it.
Your phone's own backup (iCloud Backup on iPhone, or Google's device backup on Android) may include the app's data if you have backup turned on. That backup is run by Apple or Google under your account and their privacy policies, and we can't access it.
What we collect
None. Our Father does not collect, store, sell or share personal information. In particular, we do not use:
- advertising, or advertising identifiers (no IDFA on iPhone and no Android advertising ID)
- analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs
- location, contacts, camera, microphone or health data
- accounts, sign-ins or email lists
Permissions the app may ask for
Each permission is optional and used only for the feature it names. You can change any of them later in your phone's settings.
- Notifications. Used to show the verse of the day and, if you turn it on, an hourly word. These are scheduled on your device ("local notifications"). They don't come from a server and send nothing anywhere. On Android, the app also asks to run at start-up, only so your reminders come back after the phone restarts.
- Saving pictures. Used to save a blessing card you made. On iPhone the app asks for "add only" access, so it can add pictures but can't see, read or change your photos. On Android it saves to your Pictures folder without asking for storage access, and it can't see your other photos.
- Read-aloud voices. The app reads aloud with the voices already on your phone. On iPhone, if you've made a Personal Voice in Settings, you can let the app read in your own voice. That voice stays on your iPhone. The app never records you and never sends your voice anywhere.
Sharing
When you tap Share on a blessing card or your mood quilt, your phone's share sheet opens and you choose where it goes. The app only hands the picture to the app you pick. We don't see what you share or with whom.
Widgets
The home screen and lock screen widgets show today's verse. The app passes that verse to its own widget through a shared space on your phone (an iOS App Group, or Android's widget system). It never leaves your device.
Purchases (Supporter)
Our Father is free. The optional Our Father Supporter subscription ($4.99 a year) is sold and processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your name, email, card number or billing address. The store only tells the app whether a subscription is active, so the app can unlock the music. Apple's and Google's privacy policies cover the payment itself.
Children
Our Father is made for all ages, including children, families and grandparents. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 (or the age set by the law where you live). It has no ads, no chat, no accounts and no way to contact strangers. Purchases go through Apple's and Google's own purchase sheets, so Ask to Buy (Apple) and Family Link (Google) work as usual.
Your choices and deleting your data
Your data is on your device, so you're in control of it:
- To delete everything, delete the app. That removes your journal, moods, highlights, prayers and settings from the device. If your phone's backup includes the app, deleting it from that backup is done in your iCloud or Google account settings.
- To stop notifications, turn them off in the app or in your phone's Settings.
- To cancel Supporter, manage your subscription in the App Store or Google Play settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Because we hold no personal information, there's nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU and UK) and the CCPA (California) give you rights over data a company holds about you; for Our Father, that data doesn't exist. You're still welcome to contact us with any question.
Bible texts and future features
The Bible versions in the app are in the public domain and ship inside the app, so reading them makes no network request.
A narrator voice planned for Supporters may be produced with AI voice technology. If a future version adds anything that sends data off your device, such as downloading audio, we'll update this policy and change the effective date before that version ships, and the app will only send what that feature needs.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
