Doodle Dave Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
Doodle Dave (formerly called Doodle Duo) (“the app”) is made by Dharyl Auguste (OSOF Studio) (“we”, “us”). Doodle Dave is designed for children and families, and we built it so that it does not collect personal information. This policy covers the app on iPhone, iPad and Android. Where something works differently on Android, we say so.
The short version
- We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.
- There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.
- Your artwork and photos stay on your device.
Information we do not collect
Doodle Dave does not collect names, email addresses, contact lists, location, device identifiers, usage analytics, or any other personal information. The app has no sign-in and does not contain third-party advertising or analytics tools. The app does not send your drawings, photos, or any other content to us or to anyone else.
On Android, the app’s only network use is Google Play Billing, for the purchase described below. The app sends nothing to us.
Photos and camera
On iPhone and iPad, if you choose to use Photo Magic, the app asks for permission to use a photo from your library or to take a picture with your camera, only when you pick one. The photo is turned into a coloring page entirely on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any server. If you choose Save to Photos, the app asks for add-only access: it can add your finished pictures to your Photos library, but it can’t see, read or change the photos already there.
On Android, Photo Magic uses the Android photo picker. The app sees only the one picture you choose, requests no photo or camera permission, and never uploads it. If you choose Save to Photos, the app adds your finished picture to a “Doodle Dave” folder in your device’s Pictures. It can’t see or read anything else there.
Printing and sharing
When you choose Print, the finished picture goes to the printer you pick through iOS’s standard print sheet. Sharing a picture to another app sits behind the grown-ups check and uses iOS’s standard share sheet, so a grown-up chooses where it goes. On Android, printing and sharing use Android’s standard print and share screens, and sharing sits behind the same grown-ups check. In both cases the picture goes only where you send it, and nothing is sent to us.
Artwork stored on your device
Coloring pages, drawings, comics, and app settings (such as “Pencil-only drawing” on iPhone and iPad, or “Draw with a stylus only” on Android) are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, this content is deleted with it. On iPhone and iPad, your device’s own backups (for example, iCloud Backup, if you have it turned on) may include app data according to Apple’s settings; we never have access to it.
On Android, the app turns off Android’s automatic app backup, so this data isn’t copied to Google Drive. A direct phone-to-phone transfer that you start yourself may still move it to your new device. We never have access to it.
Magic Page (Apple Image Playground, iPhone and iPad only)
On supported devices, the Magic Page feature uses Apple’s Image Playground, which runs under Apple’s own privacy terms. We do not receive any of the prompts or images you create. Magic Page is not part of the Android app.
Purchases
The optional Comic Studio unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and through Google Play on Android, where Google Play handles the transaction under Google’s own terms. We do not receive your payment information. Purchases, Settings, sharing and links that leave the app are placed behind a grown-ups-only check, so children can’t buy things or leave the app on their own.
Children’s privacy
Doodle Dave is intended for children and is designed to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, including children, there is no personal information for us to share, sell, or disclose. Parents and guardians with questions may contact us at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the new version on this page.
